Ethereal draws its inspiration from the women of period portraiture, those figures are simultaneously present and unreachable. Shot against a deep, dark backdrop, the editorial borrows the visual language of Renaissance and Baroque painting, a world rendered in shadow and glow, where beauty carries an undercurrent of something quietly unsettling. Through sculptural jewellery, richly textured fabrics and a palette that moves from ivory through emerald to black, the work inhabits the very definition of its title, existing somewhere between the earthly and the otherworldly.
